It will beep once when you call. After it beeps, you just hang-up
THEY HAVE 5 MINS TO CALL BACK. IF THEY DON’T, CALL AGAIN
Write down the time that they call back
Call the on-call interventional cardiologist listed in Lightning Bolt (See instructions below)
In the message, write in Caps lock "STEMI ALERT! PLEASE CALL ED IMMEDIATELY!"
THEY HAVE 5 MINS TO CALL BACK. IF THEY DON’T, CALL THEIR CELL (IN STEMI BINDER)
4. Print a facesheet and an extra sheet of patient stickers for Cath Lab (Put these on the patient's bed with a sticky note that says "For Cath Lab")
5. Scan EKG into the chart so that the Cardiologist can see it!
6. Write down the time Cath Lab arrives to the ED
Write down the time they leave with the patient to go to Cath Lab
7. Document STEMI alert time in special comments, complete log in the STEMI binder, complete Cardiac Alert Ad Hoc, then have charge sign the checklist form.
8. Ask Doc what other docs they want paged for admissions (last thing)
Usually ICU intensivist, and either IPC, SCP or KARE
